Quintet parisien dopé à l’énergie Madchester, SHIT BROWNE scande une pop music pour tous : urbaine, jouissive et poétique. Et se réapproprie l’idée que danser c’est sauver le monde.
En héritage de New Order et Stone Roses, des Happy Mondays, Charlatans ou Primal Scream, SHIT BROWNE réinvente le happening pop, le stadium de bar.

Après deux singles unanimement accueillis par la critique (‘DMD’ en 2008, remixé par Mondkopf, et ‘Sweetback’ en 2009, remixé par David Carretta), SHIT BROWNE enregistre son premier album pendant l’été 2009.
Les multiples couches qui forment le son du groupe se posent rapidement sur la bande. Un parfum d’energy drink et d’indépendance flotte sur l’enregistrement, que le groupe réalise et mixe lui-même entre différents studios et appartements. Il est difficile d’expliquer quel chemin emprunter pour baliser ce crossover pop/club, version 2010. Il y a pour le groupe une vérité, une instinctivité que les mots ne peuvent définir, seule le son pourra en être le manifeste.
C’est cette évidence qui s’installe maintenant, à l’écoute de ‘Every Single Penny Will Be Reinvested In The Party’. De l’hypnotique ‘Electronics’ à l’extatique ‘Winter Collection’, SHIT BROWNE rebondit sur sa propre inspiration et se réinvente en version électrique ou électronique à volonté.

En se rappelant aux grandes heures fières de la fête universelle – Detroit, Chicago, Manchester – les cinq Browne renouent avec le mythe rock du grand combat quotidien contre la dépression, contre la résignation.
Mais que les choses soient claires : il n’y a pas de passéisme, il y a simplement la volonté de faire quelque chose de personnel qui nous fasse lever les bras et fermer les yeux.

Aucune amertume, juste de l’acidité.

After the release of two critically acclaimed singles (‘DMD’ in 2008, remixed by Mondkopf, and ‘Sweetback’ in 2009, remixed by David Carretta) – SHIT BROWNE recorded its first album during Summer 2009 between different studios in Paris and different friends’ places. A flavour of independance and energy drink you can hear in the melt of multiple sounds that forge ‘Every Single Penny Will Be Reinvested In The Party’. Finding difficult to explain what this pop/club crossover is made of – but confident about themselves on how to reach it – the band produced and mixed all of the songs.
It’s maybe this authenticity and simple truth that give the album this manic and/or ecstatic feeling. From the hypnotic ‘Electronics’ to the explosive ‘Winter Collection’ SHIT BROWNE jumps on its own inspiration and reboot itself at will as electric or electronic.

By remembering the proud times of universal party – Detroit, Chicago, Manchester – the five Brownes link with the epic daily battle of Rock against depression and resigantion.
But let everyhting be clear : this is not about past. This is just about the will of doing something of their own that make people lift their hand and close their eyes.

No bitterness just acidulation.
